Mark your calendars! The Summer Learning Program will be held Monday through Thursday and will focus on Reading and Math. Letters will be sent home during the week of April 5th if a student is recommended for the Summer Learning Program.

DANCE! DANCE! DANCE !
Come one come all. We are having the last dance of the year for 7Th and 8Th graders on March 26Th.  Come out have fun show off your dance moves. The cost per student is $4. Tickets go on sale March 22ND.
Remember you must have the permission slip signed to buy a ticket.


SOLO ENSEMBLE
BAND AND ORCHESTRA STUDENTS TAKE YOUR INSTRUMENTS HOME FOR SOLO AND ENSEMBLE TOMORROW. THE MIDDLE SCHOOL WILL NOT BE OPEN!

Middle School Art Show Needs Volunteers!
Volunteers are needed to help set up the middle school art show at the Brown Deer Public Library.
 
Set up April 22 (8:30-11:30am)
Take down April 29 (8:30-11:30am)

Attention Forensics members:
Practive will be held Tuesday after school. All members should plan to attend.
Next Saturday, March 27th, is the Forensics state championships.  All state qualifiers please plan to meet in front of the school at 5:30am. Please arrive on time and perpared with all scripts and props. 
The following students will be traveling Neenah, WI to Represent Brown Deer Middle School in State Competition!

National Junior Honor Society
National Junior Honor Society 09-10 selection process 
Current NJHS members that are running for an officer position, forms are due Friday, March 19th. Elections will be held March 24th at our monthly meeting. Forms are located outside my office in the wall file.
 You must currently be an NJ HS member and a 7, 8 or 9Th  grader next school year.

March Madness
It's March and that means spring is almost here and the basketball Madness will begin.  Before we have madness on the court, let's save the madness for our annual March Madness Food Drive.
The food drive will take place from March 22nd, Monday to April 1st.  The food will be donated to a local food pantry. Let's see if we can reach 550 food items.  That's about one food item per student.



Boys Summer Basketball
All boys in grades 5-8 interested in playing summer basketball should see Mr.Lucre.  All boys that did not attend the meeting should see Mr. Lucre for a registration form.
CAREER DAY

Would you or someone you know like to talk to students about your current or past career?
Our BD staff and School Board members have been some of our best speakers and/or source of referrals for great speakers for kids to hear!
Our ninth Career Day will be held for all students at Brown Deer Middle School during the morning of Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Each student will choose four different careers to hear about from adults who have held those jobs.

COLD WEATHER REMINDERS
WISCONSIN WEATHERS CAN BE BRUTAL.  WE NEED TO DRESS OUR STUDENTS ACCORDINGLY.  TEACHERS START THEIR DAY WITH SUPERVISION OF THE STUDENTS AT 7:45AM. PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF STUDENTS BEFORE THEN AS THERE WILL NOT BE ANY ONE TO SUPERVISE THEM.

THE TEMPERATURE THAT THE STUDENTS STAY IN FOR RECESS IS ANY TEMP BELOW 10'WITH  OR WITHOUT THE WIND CHILL. WE ARE ASKING THAT ALL PARENTS PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF STUDENTS EARLY.

Brown Deer School District & Next Door Foundation-Read with me





Most Wednesday’s 10 or so students travel to The Next Door Foundation, to participate in their Read with Me program. This program promotes literacy in the metro Milwaukee area. The participants read with head start students from 9am-11:30am. If there are questions please call Mrs. Williams.
